Jason Hsu: Taiwan native and world citizen, Jason studied in Australia, worked in Shanghai, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and traveled across Central and South America. Majored in English and journalism in college, he is drawn to human stories. Starting his career as an editor/translator for The Taiwan News, Jason has worked for Nike as trainer, as well as consulted on a UNESCO project for building a sustainable infrastructure plan in Xiʼan China. Jason co-founded The Big Question Conference in 2008 as a mission to bring together thinkers and doers to confront todayʼs big questions concerning society. He is also working on building a translation network that will help democratize ideas worth spreading. He hopes to continue driving social change by implementing his ideas and visions. Jason is an avid runner, a movie buff, a hungry reader and occasionally a good cook.

Kevin Peng: Growing up in Penang, with its gorgeous landscape and amazing biodiversity, Kevin has been inseparable from nature. He enjoys sitting idly, quietly observing nature—coconuts falling from tree tops, leaves swept by the midsummer breeze, and crows swooping on unsuspecting pedestrians. This fascination with nature brought him to Duke, where he studied Biology & Public Health. He came across documentary photography as a perfect tool for recording all the wonder around him. Along the way, he became touched by those he photographed. Their stories inspired him to think about the greater meaning of life and existence. After graduation, Kevin worked briefly as an analyst in the financial sector before his serendipitous encounter with Jason while training for the triathlon.
